I spent this past week visiting my friend Ruth and her family. Ruth just got a Cricut for Christmas, so we decided to have some fun with it. We were picking up some scrap wood at the house that they are renovating when we came up with the idea for this project. First we cut our blocks, and rounded the edges. Well, Ruth did. I took pictures. Then we arranged them to see if we were happy with how they turned out. Yup, we were. Next, we painted them and let them dry. Then we used Ruth's Cricut to cut out letters and Modge Podged them on. I just love how they turned out! Ruth and I now have a matching set :) We also spray painted the long board on the base with chalkboard paint. I plan to write our last name on it whenever I can find some chalk. I also think it would be really cute to add some bows or ribbon or something to a few of the blocks. I just might do that yet. Anyhow, it was just what my bare house needed!

Looks really nice. Did you use vinyl or paper? I wanna try it! :-)

Vinyl would work too, I'm sure, but we just cut out the letters with the cricut. We used cutout part of the letters so the paint on the blocks would show through.
