Who's familiar with Operation Write Home? I don't know why I have never heard of this organization before, but I think its brilliant! You can ship your handmade cards to Operation Write Home and they will send them on to our deployed troops! Our troops can then select a card from the shipment to write in and send to their families. What an absolutely wonderful way to help our military families stay in touch! If you would like to know more about this organization, visit their website at http://operationwritehome.org/ I visited their blog today and I see they have a sketch challenge. I used the sketch to come up with this card. I cut the circle out of the front panel with my cricut, and then embossed the polka dots with clear embossing powder. Then I used several different ink colors to make a resist effect. The scalloped edges were also cut with my cricut, and the sentiment was stamped and embossed as well. I just ordered my free Operation Write Home rubber stamp, so once it comes maybe I'll be able to send a variety of cards in.
