Who's familiar with Operation Write Home?
I don't know why I have never heard of this organization before, but I think its brilliant!
You can ship your handmade cards to Operation Write Home and they will send them on to our deployed troops! Our troops can then select a card from the shipment to write in and send to their families. What an absolutely wonderful way to help our military families stay in touch!

I visited their blog today and I see they have a sketch challenge. I used the sketch to come up with this card. I cut the circle out of the front panel with my cricut, and then embossed the polka dots with clear embossing powder. Then I used several different ink colors to make a resist effect. The scalloped edges were also cut with my cricut, and the sentiment was stamped and embossed as well.
I just ordered my free Operation Write Home rubber stamp, so once it comes maybe I'll be able to send a variety of cards in.
So glad you found me! This blog is my little space where I can share bits about my life and my latest crafting projects (mostly handmade cards). My goal is to share, inspire, and to be a positive presence in the creative community.
